About

Me? You really want to know more about the person behind the curtain, eh?
Well, I'm the caretaker of two handsome boys. One being my toddler son, the other being my genius husband. I'm a gardener, writer, home decorator, nurse, cook, maid, teacher... the list goes on and on. And some people say being a housewife isn't a worthy occupation. ;)
I take an interest in many things, but my main focus is DIY, self-sustainability and the vintage/retro. I'm afraid I live in a rather too fast-paced and interconnected era for my liking. I love walking to the store and farmers markets. I love gardening and picnics. I love tea with friends, fancy parties, and pretty things.

Or maybe you're more curious about my house?
This poor, neglected home of mine was built in 1905, according to the county. Though, it was possible it was built even earlier. 1905 is a number to slap on some houses if their original built date is unknown.
It's 3 bedrooms, one bathroom. The bathroom being accessible only through one of the bedrooms, since it's sandwiched between. One bedroom is a rather small, short, awkwardly shaped attic room off the master bedroom.
And the wallpaper.... many, many layers of wallpaper. 1910, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 80s, 90s... I swear there's a layer for every ten years! I've been trying to document and photograph every layer I find... some of them I just adore!
Structurally my house is sturdy and sound. Cosmetically... it's dreadful. Hoarders lived here before us. It was a pretty nasty sight. You can see photos in my 'House Tour' page.
